In Gujarat, an Electrical Contractor License is a mandatory authorization issued by the Chief Electrical Inspector (CEI), under the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat.
This license permits individuals or companies to carry out electrical installation works for High Voltage (HT) and Low Voltage (LT) lines, ensuring safety standards in cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Rajkot.
Without this license, bidding for government tenders (PGVCL, MGVCL, UGVCL, DGVCL) or executing large private projects is illegal in Gujarat.
Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI (Wireman/Electrician) with valid certification.
Must employ at least one valid Electrical Supervisor and one Wireman Permit holder.
Log in to the CEI Gujarat / Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP).
Upload digital copies of staff permits and instruments invoice.
Pay the requisite government fees via Cyber Treasury Gujarat.
Verification by the Electrical Inspector at the regional office.
Final approval from Gandhinagar/Regional Head and license download.
